Day 33 (22.06.2014 Sun) – Farewell dinner hosted by Margaret Modrate.
A lovely dinner was hosted by Margaret Modrate at Tigh Na Mara Hotel and Restaurant in the town of Sandhead. Margaret aged 71 and lives in Kirkcom.

For lunch at home we had corn beef stool and potatoes salad.

Sandhead is a small village in Dumfries and Galloway, south west Scotland.

The Sandhead Village main street.

Sandhead Church on the main street.
A beautiful Sandhead cottage on main street.

With ample car parking and picnic tables by the beach, Sandhead is a great place for a picnic before walking on the beach.

Sandhead village overlooks Luce Bay, 7 miles south of Stranraer. This beautiful sandy beach stretches for more than a mile and boasts unlimited sand when the tide is out.

The nice beer garden at the back entrance of Tigh Na Mara restaurant.

The nice figuring all around the Tigh Na Mara restaurant.

The Tigh Na Mara dining room was pleasantly decorated; the rooms were bright, comfortable and clean.

Dinner menu is served between 6.30pm - 9pm and an extensive A La Carte menu is offered as well as various seasonal specials.

All food freshly cooked and very hot. Lovely staff and efficient service.

  1. Hi Mr Ching
Lovely pics of all the lovely Scottish food on offer plus great narrative of every events.
Don't mind my correction, might be your typing error when you mention the corn beef stool (that doesn't sound too appetising), I think it is corn beef stew that was served.
Incidentally Alistair's car is a Nissan Qashqai, that's the UK model
    Best wishes

  2. Dear Gary Ong,
Its embarrassing for the wrong word used. Thank you very very much for pointing out the mistake. Yes, it should be Corn Beef Stew that was served. Thanks Gary.
