Backpacking to Stranraer, Scotland from 21 May to 26 June 2014 (37days)
The bothy at Lady Bay Bothy, Stranraer. A bothy is a basic shelter, usually left unlocked and available for anyone to use free of charge. It was also a term for basic accommodation, usually for gardeners or other workers on an estate. Bothies are found in remote mountainous areas of Scotland, Northern England, Ulster and Wales.
Day 32 (21.06.2014) – Our last visit to Lady Bay Bothy, Stranraer
Today is 21st of June and is known as the longest day – the day with the longest daylight in a year. In the morning the ladies went shopping and the guys went for the last visit to Lady Bay in the afternoon.
This longest day usually marks the summer solstice in the northern hemisphere and the winter solstice in the southern hemisphere, which is the day of the year with the most hours of daylight in the northern hemisphere and the fewest hours of daylight in the southern hemisphere.
