This was the first time we had seen such strict border controls in Russia. After arriving in Irkutsk, we had a 6-hour layover before our 4h connecting flight to Vladivostok, so we had a meaty dinner at Winkel Beer & Meat and a few beers. It was an exhausting 2-day flight (we left Bangkok at 6 am on June 21st and arrived in Vladivostok at 7:30 am on June 22nd (2 hours earlier than Malaysia). Accommodation: Night Flight S7 Airlines.

Think incredibly tender and juicy bone-in pork covered in crispy skin? Yes, we had that in Winkel Beer & Meat restaurant in Irkutsk. We enjoyed the slow-roasted German pork knuckle with spicy beer sauce. Of the many things the Germans have perfected, roast pork stands at the top.
