16. Following a satisfying dinner around 8 p.m., we embarked on a nearly 3-hour drive along Europavei 8 (E8) to the E8 Rest Area, which we were informed to be a popular stop – as we planned to catch our first glimpse of the Northern Lights. Enduring the bone-chilling cold as the temperature dropped to a frigid minus 20 degrees Celsius, our excitement grew with each passing minute. After almost an hour of patient anticipation, our hopes of witnessing the elusive Aurora Borealis seemed to thin. However, just when optimism waned, a spectacular moment unfolded. Above our heads, the ethereal ray of the Northern Lights began to dance across the Arctic sky, and in that magical instance, our hearts couldn't have been happier. We were lucky to achieved our goal within the first day of arrival!
