A lovely dinner was hosted by Margaret Modrate at Tigh Na Mara Hotel and Restaurant in the town of Sandhead. Margaret Modrate aged 71 and lives alone in Kirkcom, Scotland.

With ample car parking and picnic tables by the beach, Sandhead is a great place for a picnic.


Sandhead village overlooks Luce Bay, 7 miles south of Stranraer. This beautiful sandy beach stretches for more than a mile and boasts unlimited sand when the tide is out.

    Lovely pics of all the lovely Scottish food on offer plus great narrative of every events.
    Don't mind my correction, might be your typing error when you mention the corn beef stool (that doesn't sound too appetising), I think it is corn beef stew that was served.
    Incidentally Alistair's car is a Nissan Qashqai, that's the UK model
